Nicolle Marsh Flats

Wednesday, June 8th, 2016

This work completed about one year ago records a visit Rhonda and I made to Saskatchewan in a new way. The image, that is 24″ x 54″, fuses photography with Mylar’s that were drawn while walking on the Nicolle Marsh Flats near Buffalo Pound Lake. There are five other related works from that visit.

Kamloops Residency

Thursday, June 20th, 2013

Rhonda and I are getting down to work again. Finally we are finding an opportunity to print the woodblocks that we cut last summer in Saskatchewan. We are printing at Kamloops Printmakers in Kamloops, BC. Here is the print from the block cut at Spring Valley. We have thirteen large format blocks from which we intend to print seven images in small editions. This work and the drawings also completed last summer in Saskatchewan will be the core of our exhibitions at the Art Gallery of Regina next February.

The Ghosts of Newfoundland

Thirteen bonus “ghost prints” from plates made at St. Michael’s Printshop in NL all lying on the floor in my studio.

Granville Island Perimeter

Friday, February 25th, 2011

All the work started at Newfoundland has now been completed.  This includes eighteen drawings, four new intaglio prints and many new photographs for our Digital Corpse series.  This picture shows a plate and finished print of Granville Island Perimeter that was a prototype for the entire series of prints developed in Newfoundland last June.

The good news now is that all back logged work has been completed and Rhonda and I are ready to look at future opportunities.  By the way all of the Newfoundland prints will be shown at Martha Street Studio in Winnipeg from June thru August of this year.

Last day of edition work

Monday, February 21st, 2011

Today at the Malaspina Print studio, Rhonda and I finished the last prints from the plates we made in Newfoundland last summer.  Here I captured a picture of her reviewing a picture of me with one of the plates.  Tricky photographic shot, huh!  But more  importantly, on the press bed is the finished print Trepassey.  We made the three plates that go together for this image walking the hill behind Warren Peterson’s home in Trepassey, NL.
