Dallas Spiller outside of Emily Carr this afternoon. He told me he was on the way to his last critique at the school. He has finished all his courses and will not be around after Christmas. We will all see his work in the graduating exhibition next spring. Dallas fabricated the portfolio cases for the Collaborate prints that Rhonda and I completed last year.

During my time at TGL, I was at the centre of printing the entire Swan Engraving series and also nearby for the Circuit prints produced by Frank Stella.  On occasion Bob Cross and I would go into Manhattan to work on one thing or another for Frank in his studio.  Here I am one day inking parts for one of the constructions he was working on at the time.

From 1976 to 1987, I worked at Tyler Graphics Ltd. (TGL) north of New York CIty in charge of the intaglio projects and being in the thick of things on most other projects underway. We always had a Polaroid camera around the studio for instant documentation or for  play. One day in a slow moment or perhaps as we plowed through the thick of difficult editioning, several of us decided to take mug shots showing that we were doing time.
