Suddenly VIP
I went to Prince George, BC to be at the opening of Chance Operations² the show that Rhonda Neufeld and I have traveling to nine Canadian cities. Prince George is the sixth stop on the circuit. My good friend, Julia Whittaker, greeted us at the airport when we walked into the arrivals area. Just a month prior to this a chauffeur met me at La Guardia in NYC. Comrades, early mentors and inspirations
My very first class in lithography was at the University of Regina. On more than one occasion these three masters students saved my lithographic butt. Here they are from left to right - Nelson Yuen, Chuck Marsh and Charlie Largent. Missing but not forgotten is C.J. Finn.
Crossing Over/ painting a critical conversation
Today, I attended the painting symposium organized in conjunction with Landon Mackenzie's exhibition at the Richmond Art Gallery. Participants included Ben Reeves, Allan Switzer, Jesse Garbe, Eli Boronoswky, Allyson Clay, Damian Moppett, Neil Campbell, Elizabeth McIntosh, Vanessa Disler, Sean Weisgerber and Tiffin Breen. Here Ben wanders through the opening for Painters '11 - a string theory - the exhibition put up as part of the symposium.
