Fifty looks something like this
This morning I visited with Doug Haynes at his studio in Edmonton. Doug is one of the great painters working in Canada and he has been doing that for over fifty years now. Around 1994, I worked with him in the print studios at Keyano College to produce nearly two hundred monotypes. I frequently find myself sharing the things I have learned about art from him with students and friends. These are some of the canvases that he still has around… the others are out in the world making people happy. It was good to catch up with Doug and to sit with him for a few hours and learn new things.
